A. Mani


Biography

A. Mani , Ph.D, is Professor of Asia Pacific Studies at the Graduate School of Asia Pacific Studies, and has served in various capacities including that of Vice President of the Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan. Since April 2006, he is also an Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS), Singapore. His major publications include Indian Communities in Southeast Asia (1993, 2006) with Kernial Singh Sandhu; Rising India and Indian Communities in East Asia (2008) with K. Kesavapany and P. Ramasamy; and, Early interactions between South and Southeast Asia: Reflections on crosscultural exchange (2011) , with Pierre-Yves Manguin and Geof Wade. He has also published various papers on themes related to Indians in Southeast Asia, education, ethnicity and migration. E-mail: maniavm @apu.ac.jp
