ABOUT Amelia Marcelino

Born 1982 in Manila, Philippines, Amelia Ferrer Marcelino fell in love with writing, painting, and debating at a very early age. She wrote her first poem at the age of 9, and worked on new ones continuously, always dwelling on the themes of love, friendship, and God. By the time she had graduated from high school in 1999, she had already won awards in interclass English and Social Studies competitions and other literary competitions, all while serving as literary editor of her high school paper. College followed at St. Scholastica’s College, Manila, where she earned a BSC degree in Applied Economics. She was also elected as President of the College Student Council in 2002. In 2003, Marcelino received the President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Award for Excellence in Leadership. She finished her Master's Degree in Business Administration at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business in August 2009. She currently works at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (Central Bank of the Philippines).
